A student will spend four years and twenty-odd lakh rupees based on numbers that often come from a brochure.
We didn't like that. So we built something else.
In India, every year, a few million families make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives on the basis of "placement data" nobody has verified. A star rating. A rounded percentage on a PDF. A ranking with an opaque methodology. It's treated as truth, and it shouldn't be.
Meanwhile, there's actual data. NIRF files annually. NAAC publishes grades. AISHE runs a census. Colleges submit real numbers to real government bodies. It's all just… not where students are looking.
unbiasEd is the smallest possible version of "put the real numbers where the students are, and cite them properly." No star ratings. No rankings we invented.
Every claim on this site traces back to a public source we link to. Every metric has a confidence tier. When data isn't available, we say so — instead of guessing prettily. When we get something wrong, we publish the correction, the cause, and the fix.
We think AI engines are going to change how students research colleges in the next 18 months. We think when that happens, the sites that win will be the ones with attributed, caveated, honest data. We're a small team betting our time on that idea.
Pick any page. Click a [SRC] badge. You should land on a government PDF or a named college document — no exceptions. If you find one that doesn't, tell us: data@unbiased.college.
Honest accountability for an AI-assisted operation.
Most of our prose is drafted by an LLM working from validated source data, then reviewed by a human editor. Here's how we keep that honest.
Editor-in-chief reviews every page before publish. One checklist. No bulk-approve. Corrections are logged publicly with what changed and why.
Read the pipeline (§6) →The LLM that drafts page prose can only reference a validated source JSON. Automated gates reject any page where a number doesn't match its source. See methodology §6.
Full quality gates →Propelld is a student education lender. It funds unbiasEd's operating costs. It does not see the editorial queue, the data pipeline, or the publishing tools. Annual audit only.
Full disclosure →No ads · no sponsored placement · no pay-to-boost ranking · no on-site lead gen for lenders · no user reviews sold as facts.
